GoFilm Danish Chinese Film Week
GoFilm: Danish Chinese Film Week is an ongoing cultural initiative created by DKFFK to promote Chinese cinema in Denmark and foster deep, long-term collaboration between the Chinese and Danish film industries.
The core of GoFilm is an annual film week, held every year in a different city in Denmark. Each edition of the event features a curated series of Chinese film screenings, as well as professional forums that bring together leading Chinese directors, producers, and actors to meet with their Danish counterparts. The goal is to create direct, meaningful dialogue between industry professionals and to pave the way for future co-productions, artistic collaborations, and knowledge exchange.
A unique highlight of the GoFilm concept is that at the end of each year’s Film Week, the next host city for the following edition is officially announced, keeping the initiative in motion and allowing it to reach new communities across Denmark.
In addition to the main event week, GoFilm operates year-round, hosting ongoing Chinese film screenings and cultural sessions in collaboration with Danish cinemas, institutions, and universities. These continuous activities strengthen public access to Chinese cinema and maintain engagement with both general audiences and industry stakeholders.
GoFilm also serves as a platform for location promotion and policy exchange, inviting national and regional film commissions, tourism boards, and line producers from both China and Denmark to present filming locations, incentive programs, and support schemes—encouraging mutual exploration of international production opportunities.
GoFilm is more than a film week. It is a growing bridge between two cinematic cultures—alive, evolving, and open to the future.
